Pointec, being approved of "SBIR Innovation Research"
News: Ministry of Economic Affairs has approved 23 projects of Small Business Innovation Research Programs

* Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has approved total 23 projects of the Small Business Innovation Research Programs.

The Dept. of Industrial Technology of Ministry of Economic Affairs has approved total 23 projects of the "Encouraged Small Business Innovation Research" (SBIR) programs. The government sponsored fund supports for these 23 projects approved has a total amounts of NT$4200 Millions passed for the new researches & developments on the various high technology industrial products, including the  Electronic, Tele-Communication, Mechnics, Consumered Chemistry, Biological Medicament and Innovative Services; that brings certain impacts to upgrade the innovations of the small business industrial's research studies.

Per Dept. of Industrial Technology of Ministry of Economic Affairs, since the start of the SBIR programs from year of 1999 Feb., till 2006 July, the domestic small business enterprises has applications made to a total of 3,070 research projects. So far, there are 3,816 innovative projects are approved to receive government's funds supports up to NT$39 millions already and therefore lead to the added investments from these enterprises on the further researching studies to NT$82.1 millions increase. Indicated by the Dept. of the technology, that through these innovations researching, small business enterprises will increase 10.8 thousands above  direct R&D human resource; that will bring the advantages of reinforcements on the research man-powers education, R&D capability accumulated. These will promote Taiwan's small business enterprises skill levels, industrial competition ability and the traidtional business transformation. Meanwhile, it will also be a big step to our goal of Taiwan being the center of the Industrial Research.
